There are many myths about Blue Cats that live in the deepest water near dams the size of a small car. I don't know about that, but I would not have wanted to come across this one on a scuba dive. Coming out of dark mirky water would give anyone a fright!
Scientific Name: Ictalurus furcatus (catfish - forked)
Sizes typically range from 12 to 30 inches wighing in at up to 20 pounds.
Blue Catfish are the largets in the catfish family. Thie will eat any aquatic animal that they can catch such as fish, frogs and crawfish. These opportunistic predators have even been known to bite scuba divers!
Angling Fact: The most effective bait for Blue Catfish are cut bait and live shad on trotline, jugline or rod and reel. The Blue Catfish ranks #4 on the Oklahoma Angler survey.

It was caught in (a href='http://mapserver.mytopo.com/homepage/index.cfm?lat=33.83194&lon=-96.57083&scale=100000&zoom=50&type=1&icon=0&searchscope=dom&CFID=7881467&CFTOKEN=21045705&scriptfile=http://mapserver.mytopo.com/homepage/index.cfm&latlontype=DMS' target=_blank>Lake Texoma.
