We have had a few lightning strikes around us on top of our ridge. From time to time I find my self out looking for fires started by a near strike.
We did not hear this one, it was about a mile from our house and I do not know exactly when it happened... but it is impressive!
The lightening struck this poor tree and it simply exploded! Not only that, it traveled down some of the surrounding trees and removed strips of bark where it explosively boiled the sap.
