Page 1 - Introduction
Today, we arrived at opening time at the museum.  To do this we had to leave very early in the morning, before the sun was up.  Cruised the Autobahn at a high rate of speed and found a surprisingly close parking place less than a block away from the front door!

Now this museum is not small... it is 5 large floors of fantastic exhibits that you could easily spend a few days at.  Unfortunately, we were unable to see everything, but carefully selected our points of interest for the day.  If you are in Salzburg, Austria, you MUST plan a visit to this place!  It will impress even the most discriminating museum buffs!

They have dioramas that are reminiscent of those seen in the movie Night At The Museum and are very impressive.  The Wild animal exhibits contain a lot of surprises. The science and space exhibits display collections from not only European sources, but American, Russian and more.  Their Aquarium alone is worth the stop by... but the most impactful place you will visit is the exhaustive Live Snake Reptile Zoo.  over 50 terraria housing 200 animals including more poisonous snakes than I have ever seen in my whole life COMBINED!! The best of this is the intimate interaction that is possible there, too.  Check that out to see some great closeups of eyes, heads and more!!

Well, this is merely an introduction to the whole place at which we spent this day.  Click on for some more pictures and a tour.
