Eiffel Tower Restaurant Experience at the Paris Resort

Back

Las Vegas, Nevada
Tigger and his entourage of 2 went out to celebrate a special Birthday dinner for Jennifer at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. We all got dressed up in our fanciest clothes and went for a once in a lifetime culinary experience.  We arrived about 15 minutes early to take in the décor and architecture of the hotel. As we made our way to restaurant we were escorted by a lovely attendant to a private elevator that takes you up through the steel structure to the dining area. Earlier in the day we had called the maître d’ to request a table viewing the Bellagio Fountains. He assured us since we had chosen an earlier seating time 6:00 that it would not be an issue.  Exiting the elevator, we were escorted to our sweetheart table with full window view. All window seating are tables for 2, it makes for an intimate dining experience.

The restaurant has 2 menus, the regular ala carte menu or the chefs tasting menu. We knew in advance we were going to participate in the tasting menu with the wine pairing. We wanted to try a variety of dishes. This tasting menu consist of 7 courses and an additional cheese course option.

After the Les Amuses Bouches which was a course of 3 mini bites, came the warm lobster salad, creamed corn and double smoked bacon paired with a White Burgundy. This was our first time trying a wine pairing and I must say the wine brought out the flavor of the lobster. I could have eaten a whole meal of this salad.

Our next course was the Warm Foie Gras with Braised peaches. I don’t really care for Foie Gras but this one was so buttery and rich that I couldn’t help but love it. This dish was paired with a Jurançon, not sure what that is but once again they nailed the pairing.

The fourth course was the fish and Pinot Noir. I love fish and the Pacific Halibut they served was seasoned and prepared perfectly. This dish was accompanied by a Mini Ratatouille. As I was eating this dish, images of Disney’s “REMY” danced in my head. It was a little bit of our own Disney Magic in the middle of Las Vegas... Especially since it was getting dark and the Bellagio fountains show was lit up and dancing.

The fifth course consisted of Veal Medallions, Soubise (onion sauce) and Braised fava Bean. This dish was paired with a Beaumes de Venice Rouge, a very hearty red that complimented the red meat and enhanced the flavor. The veal basically melted in your mouth. After this dish our server suggest the cheese course to enhance the French experience. We love cheese! When we go on cruises we request cheese and fruit platers with our meals so this course we had the cheese. We enjoyed the different flavors and when mixed with the toasted walnut and fresh honeycomb it turned into a sweet and savory experience.

The 6th course and believe me even though the servings are small by this time we were very full, but who could pass up dessert. There are 2 options for dessert the soufflé that is an additional charge or the Eiffel Tower desserts. We decided against the Soufflé and were very happy with the desert choices. It was chocolate 5 ways; the mini lava cake was my favorite while David loved the gelato. After we were finished they brought out a special Birthday chocolate mousse for me. Little touches like that made the evening even more special. During the entire meal we felt like royally. Our server took her time between courses so we never felt rushed. she allowed us to discuss and savor each dish with the wine at our pace not the restaurants. Our final sweet experience as if we had not already had enough chocolate were the petit fours with a final cup of coffee.

The price for the meal is $ 135 per person and a $ 59 supplement for the wine. I would categorize this as a very expensive meal. We saved up and budgeted for it was so worth it. I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants an experience of a life time.
