Subject: Best Las Vegas Grand Canyon Sunset Helicopter Tours

Best Las Vegas Grand Canyon Sunset Helicopter Tours

By Kelly Kirbee

To say that not all Grand Canyon helicopter tours are created equal would be a vast understatement and that statement is never more accurate than when describing the sunset tours. If you are in search of an amazing way to spend some time at the National Park, one of these flights could be just what you're looking for.

Points of Departure For Vegas Flights

Sunset helicopter tours are available both from the South Rim in Arizona and from Las Vegas. They generally depart just before sunset and are usually the final flights of the day. To find the right tour for your schedule, you can go to the online booking page and scroll to the bottom of the page.

The most popular of the sunset tours departing Las Vegas is the champagne picnic tour. It flies from Vegas and lands on the bottom for a picnic. Time at the base varies but is generally around 30 minutes. The trip comes in two classes: deluxe and basic. The terminal for the deluxe trip is located on The Strip and the basic version departs from Boulder City, which is 30 minutes outside of Vegas. The deluxe tour also flies over The Strip for a spectacular view on the return trip.

Transportation to and from the terminal is provided with each tour, but as with most packages, they differ depending on whether you book a basic tour or the deluxe package. The basic class tour provides a shuttle van to pick you up and return you to your hotel while the deluxe tour uses a limousine. The limo service is the perfect added touch if you have a special occasion to celebrate. While the deluxe package does cost a bit more, those little extras make the additional cost worth every penny.

Vegas flights offer air only sunset flights as well and it is as easy as choosing to book the final flight for the day. These tours offer both basic and deluxe packages as well, which should be considered when booking online. Air tours follow the same general flight path as the landing flights, including a fly over of both Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

South Rim Tours

The sunset tours that depart from South Rim are always the final flights each day and these tours are all air only. They range in length from 30 to 50 minutes. The 50-minute flight is the flight preferred by most repeat customers because it tours nearly 75% of the National Park, which covers over 1 million acres.

It is important to remember that the Grand Canyon helicopters' flights are quite limited and as such, they usually sell out in a short amount of time. If you plan to book a tour, it is recommended that you do so at least 1 or 2 weeks ahead of time.

While these tours are available through the usual channels, booking online is one of the most convenient, easy, and safe ways to schedule. It can also offer a better price than elsewhere, but in order for the Internet discount to apply, the transaction has to be completed on the site.

There is no better way to see the Grand Canyon than from the air and seeing a breathtaking sunset as you fly over the canyon is just an added bonus. Whether you choose the deluxe or basic packages the sight of this magnificent landmark from above is a sight that will stay with you forever.
